What we collect and why

Your email address

We ask for your email address so we can send you a file you asked for, such as a printable, or an email when Cairn launches. Our lawful basis is that we need it to provide what you asked for. We may also use it to tell you about a correction to a file you downloaded.

The newsletter

We only add you to the newsletter if you tick the box. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by emailing us.

Your household plan

The answers you give in the plan builder stay in your browser. They are never sent to us.

Postcodes in the radio lookup

A postcode you type into the radio lookup is used only to show you the result. We do not store it. Our hosting provider's standard request logs may include the page address, which contains the postcode, for a short time.

Who processes data for us

  • Hosting: Vercel
  • Email delivery: Resend, using servers in Ireland
  • Newsletter: Brevo, based in France

Our hosting provider may process data outside the UK. Vercel is based in the United States. Its data processing agreement with us includes the UK international data transfer addendum issued by the Information Commissioner's Office, and Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

If you asked for a file or a Cairn launch email, we keep your email address for 12 months, then delete it. If you joined the newsletter, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe, then delete it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can:

  • ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it
  • ask us to delete it
  • withdraw your consent at any time

To use any of these rights, email hello@ukhomeready.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies. The plan builder uses your browser's local storage, on your device only, to keep your answers between visits.
